About this Blog

Welcome to momsiecle.com!

Momsiecle is short for Momsie's Circle.  I got Momsie from my nephew who sort of considered me to be his mom, while his Mama was away to work abroad. Since then I owned “Momsie” and I decided to use it as my online name.

Momsiecle.com became my official blog site in March of 2012. I started my first blog on a free blogging platform in 2006 as a just for fun blog where I write just about anything: my daily experiences, the movie that I watched or the food that I just tried.  When my family and I moved to Winnipeg in 2009, I started to write about my challenges and discoveries about living in Canada as an immigrant.  Back then, there were just a few blogs that talks about immigrant’s life in Canada, that is when I decided make Momsiecle.com a place to come for aspiring Canadian immigrants and for  immigrants (like me) who are embracing life in the “new world” that they are in.

This little space for Momsie has grown right along with me. From the journey as an Asian Mom transitioning to life in Canada, this space now also shares her attempt to become a “supermom” where she shares about her journey in raising my 3 children, what she loves about her Filipino culture and traditions, her fun stories and life lessons as she face her midlife stage, her financial pilgrim and anything in between.

My family and close friends know how passionate I am when it comes to writing. I find joy and unexplainable satisfaction in writing. I am able to say what I am thinking or how I feel best when I say it through a letter or a poem.

Through the years, this blog has opened different doors for “Momsie.” She made new friends from different parts of the globe. She met people from different communities here in Winnipeg.  She met other bloggers and book authors from different parts of Canada. She got featured in an article in a local newspaper in Winnipeg and became a resource speaker in a school writing symposium (which I never imagined I would do.)

This blog played a big role to where I am now. It provided me a space where I can share the failures and triumphs that I went through in transitioning to a new life outside my comfort zone and it enable me to reach out to more people.
